With over 35 years of experience in higher education I have a deep understanding of all facets of higher education.
For faculty and administrators: I understand both the rewards and the challenges of academic life. As a sociologist, tenured faculty member, department chair, program director, and senior academic administrator, I have walked alongside colleagues through the complexities of teaching, leadership, and organizational change.
For parents: I have provided leadership for freshman-year initiatives, academic advising, parent programs and have worked with students and parents alike. I hold a PhD in Sociology with expertise in family systems and focus on helping parents of high school students successfully navigate the transition to life after high school.
In my personal life, I am a wife, mom of two adult children, and corral an energetic two-year old dog and two pandemic cats. I enjoy family dinners, robust conversations, long walks in nature, traveling and being in my garden.
